Yellowstone!!

We (Steven, the Kids, and I), just got back from Jackson Hole and Yellowstone. Steven and I haven't been there for a few years and the kids have never been there. We were only gone for 2.5 days but that's the perfect amount of time with two young kids. (I forgot to take the camera with us when we went in to Jackson so there isn't any pictures of that.) Steven just got done with school 2 weeks ago so we decided to take a short family vacation before he starts school on Monday. It was very enjoyable, and very relaxing to be on our own schedule and not have to be anywhere at any particular time . These pictures aren't in any order. The above picture is of Kaylee at Old Faithful.
We saw a lot of wildlife, including this picture of a deer. Steven wonders why he can't see one like this during hunting season.

We drove all the way around the park in one day. We had a picnic in the park in one of the picnic areas provided. Here is the kids and I (and of course bear, we couldn't forget to take him with us, after all he is part of the family right?) after lunch before hopping back in the truck for some more driving.

Here is Steven and the kids after lunch as well. Too bad we couldn't just have a picture of all of us together, but there was no one else around to take one for us.

This is my favorite picture that we took, the kids after lunch. They were both such troopers the whole time we were gone. Each day was filled with long car rides, but they both did great.

Here is the kids and I at Mammoth. Kaylee hiked all of the stairs up to the top. Her little legs were so tired I'm sure but she didn't complain.

One of the many buffalo that we saw. A lady in head of us, going the opposite direction, told us to slow down because there was a big moose in head. When we got up closer this is what we saw. That's a silly-looking moose don't you think?

Old Faithful going off.

Steven and Kaylee at Old Faithful before it went off.

I have never seen a bear in the wild or in Yellowstone before, so this was quite a treat. Kaylee was so excited, but I think that I was definately the most excited. We saw this bear the second day we were there. We stayed in a trailer (Steven's parents') just outside of Yellowstone called Flagg Ranch Campground. The morning we were leaving to go see the park we stopped to see this bear. He was just barely along the side of the road. He was only about a mile from our campground, YIKES!!!! We also saw him the last morning as we were leaving to come home. The rangers said he hangs out in the same place every day. Talk about "watch out for bears".
We had an enjoyable trip. We are definately ready to go again. Thank you to Steven's parents for letting us borrow their trailer. It was a much needed vacation. The kids did great and I think we all had fun.
I will try to catch you up about what we have done with the rest of our summer later. Stay tuned.....

Happy Easter

Growing up my mom always made or bought my sisters and I an Easter dress, I have decided to keep that tradition with my kids. But I haven't made any yet, just bought them. This is a picture of the kids before we went to church. They are both getting so big I can't believe it.
The kids and I went and spent part of the weekend at my sisters house. My mom and dad and other sister were there as well. "Grandma" wore all the kids out with several activities. The kids got to color eggs, have an easter-egg-hunt, and make cut out cookies. Needless to say I think everybody needed a vacation from the vacation, but we all had a blast. Thanks Mom and Michelle for planning such a fun weekend, we'll have to do it again sometime.

Kaylee with her cousins after the egg hunt-showing off all the eggs they had found. Way to go guys.

What We've Been up to the last Month.

Kaylee needed a new bed since Tyler needed the crib. We decided to get a bunkbed. It can be taken apart and made into 2 twin beds for when Tyler gets big. For right now Kaylee sleeps on the top. It is also nice to have another twin bed in case someone comes and stays with us (if Kaylee doesn't keep them awake all night by talking to them).
Every-once-in-awhile I am lucky enough to catch photos like these. The one above is my favorite. Kaylee is so good with Tyler I even over-heard her telling him ,one time when he was crying , "It's ok Ty's I'm here", I am very lucky that she is so good with him. We just have to watch her that she doesn't try to pick him up by herself

More of What We've Been Up To the Last Month!!

This has just recently been Kaylee and Tyler's favorite place to lay. Tyler likes that Kaylee is so close to him and Kaylee just likes the feeling of being the big sister.
Tyler is now officially 8 weeks today. He is getting so big. He is now to the cooing stage. We all enjoy trying to make him smile, which isn't very hard to do because he is a very smiley baby.

Kaylee loves laying on the floor too. This is what the kids and I do in the evenings on the weekends, since it is just the three of us. Kaylee likes watching her "buggies" (her nickname since she was a baby) show and eating popcorn.

Kaylee loves to play with play-doh. Her favorite thing to do is to make different things that she can wear such as: this mustache, earrings, a bracelet, and a necklace. We even made some homemade play-doh the other day and she thought that was pretty great.

Here's another picture of Tyler. He loves to sit in this chair (I think because it vibrates), and just look around at everyone. He can tell our voices and so he looks around the room to find that person. All-in-all it's been a great month. I have gone back to work now for about 2 days a week. Which is perfect, it allows me to get out of the house two days a week. I love being a mom and am greatful for every moment I have with my kids.

He's Here!!

It's official he's here. After being on modified bed-rest since Thanksgiving; Tyler Steven Eddington was born on January 29, 2009 at 3:10 p.m. He weighed 7 lbs 4 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. I was induced at 8:00 that morning. I had pretty much a normal delivery except for the fact that I went from being dilated to a 4 to being complete in about 45 minutes. I was worried there for a minute that the doctor might not make it to the delivery at all. I know it's only been a little over a week, and a little overwhelming at times, but I'm still very excited to be a mother of two and I'm still enjoying every minute of it. Kaylee and Steven are excited to have him here too, and both are very protective of him. Everybody thinks he looks like Steven and I would have to agree. Anyway, here's some pictures so you can see what he looks like, see what you think. There will be more to come soon.

More December Pictures

Steven has contracted with our condos to push snow with his four-wheeler. Since we got so much snow in December he had to rent a skidster to pile the snow up higher. I don't know who had more fun Steven or Kaylee.
Here is Kaylee opening presents on Christmas morning. She got a cabbage patch doll, two barbies, some blocks and a bunch of smaller toys.

Kaylee asked for a bike from Santa. She got a Dora bike. She loves to ride it around the house, since it's still too cold to ride outside. She can't quite pedal yet, but she's learning.

This is her reaction to everything Christmas morning. She saw her bike right off and went straight for it.

Steven and Kaylee went sledding. Afterward, we couldn't get Kaylee to go in the house because she was having so much fun.

December at a glance

Kaylee had several chances to play in the snow. Here is one of these times. She couldn't even move because I had bundled her up so much. Regardless she had a really fun time.
Kaylee got two chances to see Santa Claus, the first time was when we got to ride on the Polar Express. She got to talk to Santa and tell him what she wanted for Christmas and then he gave her a bell.

This was her reaction when she first saw Santa. I was a little nervous that she would start crying. But she even hollered out as soon as he walked into the train car. She said, "Santa come see me."

She got to ride the Polar Express with her cousins Logan, Hunter, and Kade. They all had so much fun.

This picture was taken when we went to get Christmas trees. It made it nice to have the four-wheeler with us, that way Kaylee didn't have to walk so far.
